The Chicago chapter of the American Institute of Architects has announced the winners of the 2014 Design Excellence Awards given in four categories: Distinguished Building, Interior Architecture, Divine Detail, and Unbuilt Design.

The 59th annual awards ceremony highlighting the best architecture from Chicago firms took place at Designight on Friday, 24 October 2014. AIA Chicago board president Scott Rappe said of the 33 awards in 4 categories: "This year's winners demonstrate continued commitment to enhancing the human experience and reducing environmental impacts while attaining the design excellence for which Chicago is known. And this is happening on a global scale."
