After a full day of live presentations to judges, the first award winners of the 2018 World Architecture Festival (WAF) in Amsterdam have been announced.
WAF, now in its eleventh year -- and its first in Amsterdam -- is set up in a unique crit format, in which architects shortlisted in numerous categories present their projects in ten minutes to a three-person jury, which then asks questions about the project. The categories fall into two general types: Completed Buildings and Future Projects; winners in the former are in the running for Building of the Year, and those in the latter vie for Future Project of the Year, both announced on Friday.
