Modern office in a historic ambience

Beautiful architecture can only be created if the environment in which we work is designed accordingly. With the remodelling of the Frankfurt Wilhelminian style villa, we have laid the foundation stone for our office.

South of the River Main, in the Sachsenhausen district of Frankfurt, is the site of the old Villa Passavant - the new location of our Frankfurt office. The Wilhelminian-style villa, which was designed by the architect Alfred Christian Günther in 1908, is surrounded by museums, villas and the Metzlerpark, which is open to the public. An extensive garden with mature trees lines the historic building, which impresses with its almost 4 metre high, stucco-decorated ceilings and round arches. Wood-panelled walls and ceilings, floor-to-ceiling wooden doors and herringbone parquet flooring create a unique spatial experience.

With an extensive refurbishment and redesign, we have given the rooms, which were formerly used as a notary's office, a new lease of life, worked out the special features of the existing building and designed them to suit us as an office.

The interior design is characterised by precisely selected furniture and lighting elements, which are complemented by unique art objects. The highlight is the luminaire jointly realised by studio 638, PSLab and Philipp Architekten in one of the two meeting rooms: UFO-like objects hover above the amorphous table and bathe the night-blue-painted room in breathtaking light.

Coloured and white walls alternate in the differently used rooms and enter into a dialogue with the dark wooden elements of the floors, walls and ceilings. In the bright and open-plan workspaces, employees can work individually at large desks; the beautifully designed conference rooms are available for internal meetings and customer discussions. On warm days, the covered terrace in the garden adjoining the office invites employees to take a lunch break together.

The conversion of the old villa has created a modern office in a historic setting that inspires creativity and allows beautiful things to emerge.
