Opfikon-Glattbrugg, Switzerland

The architecture firm Stücheli Architekten was founded by Werner Stücheli (1916–1983) in Zurich in 1946. Stücheli’s numerous, award-winning buildings – which include the first high-rise in Zurich’s city centre (Zur Bastei office building, 1955) – are still an integral part of the urban landscape. The company is now in its third generation and is run by the five partners Christof Glaus, Andreas Mosimann, Matthias Roth, Eva Schaub und Mathis Tinner with around 80 employees.
Recent prominent buildings by Stücheli Architekten include the UBS office building Grünenhof (2010), the extension of the administrative centre Credit Suisse Uetlihof (2011), the student housing of ETH Zurich (2016), the entrance building on construction plot B in the new Europaallee district near Zurich main railway station (2019, under construction), as well as the secondary school Sandgruben in Basel (2016).

We view architecture as a cultural service.
Our buildings grow with time and use.
We do not believe that innovation and tradition are mutually exclusive.
