The listed sports hall dating from 1958 was completely renovated. In the course of this project, the building underwent an energy-related modernisation, the building services were completely replaced and functionally adapted to current requirements. For this purpose, no longer required rooms were reorganised and a barrier-free layout was implemented. The sanitary areas were all brought up to date both spatially and technically. All interior structures had to be maintained respectively reconstructed according to the original state. In the course of years fixtures had been modified or different colours had been applied. The renovated condition is again guided by the original monochrome colour concept. All new fixtures were deliberately separated from the existing building in order to achieve a clear distinction between old and new.

The energy-related renovation was primarily executed with interior insulation and the use of insulating glass in the existing rooms.
