Extension of Bellvitge University Hospital - Phase II

In this extension’s phase, the emergency and intensive care areas and the surgical block were developed for the hospital’s Bellvitge Campus of the University of Barcelona. A covered plaza distributes to the emergency room, to the ambulances’ parking lot and to the entrance to the complementary services that attend the different medical specialities.

The general administration activities are concentrated at the old building, and the existing hospitalization units are rehabilitated. A bridge that connects outpatient areas with this development is built. In the basement of the new building, the logistics and supply activities of the entire hospital structure are organized. The emergency area and outpatient activities are available on the ground floor. The surgical and diagnostic functions are arranged in the three upper levels.
