The 15-member jury of the “Lu.erleben” competition bestowed 1st Prize on the proposals submitted by AS+P for the ideas section “Overall Urban Planning Concept”, and awarded it a joint 3rd Prize for the Karstadt realization section.
In October 2019, a total of eight architecture companies were invited to participate in the competition, including Hamburg’s gmp International along with WES LandschaftsArchitektur and Frankfurt’s KSP Jürgen Engel Architekten with nsp christoph schonhoff landschafts-architekten stadtplaner from Hanover. With its urban planning and architectural study for “Ningbo Hangzhou Bay South New Town”, on May 21 the team in AS+P’s Shanghai office emerged the victorious winners in the international competition for a sub-centre focused on culture and commerce and covering approx. 1 square kilometre.
The other companies competing were the Shanghai office of One Design Inc and Shanghai Tongji Urban Planning & Design Institute Co., Ltd., which is attached to the distinguished Tongji University.

The interdisciplinary AS+P team was successfully awarded by the MBS Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Foundation (MiSK).
The design for the approximately 344-hectare planning area in the heart of Riyadh in Saudi Arabia is human scale based and combines essential aspects of sustainable urban planning. These include pedestrian accessibility, mixed-use neighbourhoods, and an integrated and resilient infrastructure. As a result of winning the competition, AS+P was commissioned to plan the project, comprising the master plan, the development of two central bridges, and the concept design of a 42-hectare residential area, known as Mohammed Bin Salman Nonprofit City Residential District Concept Design. The design for a 2,500-hectare development site in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, includes urban, transport, landscape, and utility infrastructure planning. As a result of the entry, AS+P was commissioned to design the project. The concept focuses on connecting nature with the public space, the avoidance of social and functional barriers, and a sustainable slow mobility concept. (22.05.2018)

Urban design competition for the conversion of the former Cambrai-Fritsch-Barracks and adjacent Jefferson complex into the winning „Neues Quartier Ludwigshöhe”.
The AS+P spatial concept is an excellent example of sustainable, integrated urban, open-space and transportation planning. The design aims to foster sustainable development with contemporary mobility, and seeks to create a vibrant, socially well-balanced neighbourhood with short distances for around 3,100 residents.
