Start Somewhere

Start Somewhere is a social business based in Germany, Kenya and South Africa with 11 years of experience in social development projects in informal settlements. We specifically developed the TwistBlock walling system, an innovative hollow concrete block that is flexible, reusable, cost-effective and fire-safe. TwistBlocks are made in small-scale factories located in disadvantaged communities, bringing an extra layer of impact to the buildings we build.
