The American Institute of Architects (AIA) and its Committee on the Environment (COTE) have announced their selection of the best in sustainable design, what they believe "showcase excellence in sustainable design principles and reduced energy consumption." Each of the ten US projects is documented thoroughly on the AIA's website, illustrating the sustainable principles implemented. Among others, winning architects include Perkins + Will, BNIM, Opsis Architecture, and Salmela Architect, whose Bagley Classroom Building (pictured) was previously featured on W-A as a Building of the Week.
