In February 2013 LEGO announced that Danish architect Bjarke Ingels would be designing a museum and "experience center" for the popular toy company in its hometown of Billund, Denmark. Previously, BIG had built architectural models from LEGO blocks, so the choice makes perfect sense.

The design, revealed in a rendering (top left) and animation (below) gives the impression that the building is constructed from super-sized LEGO blocks. Even the skylight that caps the building and the internalized "LEGO Square" is cut with round openings that resemble the blocks' bumps. The stacking results in an aerial pattern that BIG Has branded into a logo (bottom left). LEGO House is expected to open in 2016.
