Herzog & de Meuron and Ai Weiwei's design for the 2012 Serpentine Gallery Pavilion in London digs up a portion of the Kensington Gardens to reveal the "hidden history" of previous pavilions. Cork will line the excavated portion, which sits below a circular, water-capped roof supported by twelve columns, each representing the previous pavilions as well as the current one. The pavilion will be open from June 1 to October 14.
