The LCCM (Life Cycle Carbon Minus) Demonstration House

 Back to Projects list
Location
Ibaraki, Japan
Year
2011

A lighting plan for a Life Cycle Carbon Minus (LCCM) demonstration house was conducted by the Architectural Institute of Japan.
In the lighting plan, we first organized the relationship between the rooms and daily activities, and tried to minimize the number of lighting fixtures and their power consumption.
By using all LEDs and adopting a multiple-light distributed lighting system, the amount of power consumption is less than half that of a single-light system in a single room.
In order to obtain a sense of brightness with less light, the optimal balance of light was studied through simulations such as luminance distribution diagrams in the field of view.
In addition, we have simulated the daily light changes in each season, and are trying to utilize daylight and harmonize it with artificial lighting.
